Premier Foods believes that corporate responsibility is a strategic priority that needs to be directly aligned to our overall business objectives.

We will therefore ensure that responsible business practice is integral to the operation of our business and will place this principle at the heart of our corporate responsibility strategy of ‘doing the right thing’.

In order to make sure that all our employees understand our CSR approach, in 2009, we will be delivering a ‘Corporate Responsibility Roadshow’. Our Group CSR Manager will be visiting each of our sites to advise the Senior Site Management teams of our long term sustainability goals and to explain how these align with our business strategy.

We have, for the past 3 years, had in place CSR Steering Group with members being made up of senior executives from across the business and chaired by our CEO, Robert Schofield. The Group CSR Manager regularly reports progress, against set CSR targets, to the Plc Board.

Premier Foods constantly assesses current issues and attitudes in order to anticipate the trends affecting our business. We meet with a number of key external stakeholders, relevant to our business in order to use their feedback to further develop our products, packaging and logistics, including:

• The Food Standards Agency (FSA)
• Health & Safety Executive (HSE)
• Food and Drinks Federation (FDF)
• Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)
• Institute of Grocery Distribution (IGD)
• The Waste Resources Action Programme
• Non Government Organisations
